Introduction To Ponies: Lessons for children ages 4-6
We spend time teaching children how to be comfortable working around the ponies and horses. Each child is taught how to groom and learn about the equipment used to ride ponies. Then we teach the children how to lead their mount safely. Riding ponies for the first time on a lunge line allows each child to experience what they were taught and helps them stay focused on the fun of riding while under the supervision of a riding instructor. The riding instructor teaches about safety and control before, during and after riding. Children learn to walk, sitting trot, jump position and posting trot. Mounted time is 20-30 minutes according to the individual attention span of each child. Lesson prices start at $30. All beginner lessons are private.
